How to restore a backup from File History on Windows 10
When you receive your laptop back it will be restored to factory settings. If you have a backup saved, this guide will show you how to restore a backup from an external storage device.

Plug in your external storage device and connect your laptop to the mains power as this can take time depending on the size of your backup

Press the “Windows” button in the bottom left corner of the screen, then type “Restore” and click on, ‘Restore your files with “File History”

Select the files you wish to restore either, by clicking and dragging your mouse over them to select, or, by holding “Ctrl” and clicking on files

Once the files are selected, click on the green circle arrow “Restore to original location”

A small window will appear showing the progress of the restore, this may take some time depending on the amount of data being restored
