How to factory reset your Windows 10 laptop
This video will show you how to delete all the data from your laptop. Please note we recommend you backup any data you wish to keep before following this process as once completed, the data cannot be recovered. Please see our other guides showing how to backup data on your Windows 10 laptop.
From the desktop open the start menu by clicking the Windows icon in the very bottom left of the screen
Select “Power”
How down the “Shift” key then select “Restart”, this will restart the laptop into “Recovery Mode”
When the blue “Recovery Mode” screen appears, click on “Troubleshoot”
Select “Reset this PC”
Select “Remove Everything”
The laptop will now restart and prepares the device for restore
You will then be given two options of the type of restore you would like, make your choice based on the descriptions given
Confirm the reset by clicking on “Reset”
The device will now restart and begin resetting the PC, this may take a while
Once it is completed it will restart and you will see the “Select Region” screen. The laptop has now been reset and removed of data
